Pros and cons of LimeChat - IRC Client app for iPhone and iPad
LimeChat - IRC Client app good for
..but SSL V3 is missing and you have to do smth against ping-timeout. Thumbs up though for that nice client i also wouldnt want to miss on my mac
So far so good. This irc has advanced features which are uber nice - like sent commands on connect. Auto connects to your rooms and has a great navigability. Id say its almost as good as the desktop version of mIRC.
If theres one request Id have its that I would like to see support for color text. I use chat bots that send certain colors and on my pc with mIRC its amazing. So on my iPhone this irc is great but to make it even better Id love to see color text!!
I was impresses how fast and easy it was to be functional. I dont use a lot of features in general but it got me what I needed.
Probably priced a bit high for what it is, but Im glad its still maintained and that isnt cheap for niche software. Works well, sleek interface and the stuff that isnt accessed much is tucked away as appropriate. 5/5 would recommend.
iOS7 and still no background data? The client is superb. But it always disconnects in background:(
Thanks for such great app.
Would be nice to have iCloud sync for server/channels list between devices (iOS/OSX).
Some bad moments
If you lock your phone or switch to another app. The Chat is instantly offline. That sucks hard for a chat client and makes it useless for me.
Im using this on an Ipad 4, currently with iOS 7.
This IRC client used to be really good, but it gets more and more wrecked with every update.
First the input bar moved to the center of the screen and this still hasnt been fixed.
Now with the newest update, the window cycling arrows have been removed.
WTF? WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE DO THAT?
Im really pi***d off now. I think Ill go looking for a new IRC client.
Unless you are a programmer DO NOT BUY THIS PROGRAM. Absolute waste of money.
The app perfectly works before. Can you please fix the crashing whenever PM is initiated in a channel. I cant send a private message. The app crash everytime I send a private message. Ty
If you want to chat over IRC, them this app does just fine. If you want to do anything else, then the app is insufficient. Cut and paste is not so hot; you cant select what you want to cut. File transfers or even going to an fserve (ctcp)...not an option. For a $5 app, I would have expected a LOT more.
Without my phone being able to vibrate in my pocket and let me know someone has contacted me this app is almost useless for $5. I see some other people have mentioned this as well so hopefully this will be fixed soon and I can change my rating. Other than that its a pretty solid irc app.
