LimeChat - IRC Client App Reviews

Decent but a suggestion

I love this app, Ive been using it for a year or so. Its decent and easy to use. The only con about is if only it has a feature where it doesnt disconnect you. It gets annoying using limechat and then after going to safari its been disconnected.

Keep the app open while connected

This will disconnect you from all servers if you put your phone on standby, but simply keeping the app in focus will prevent this. Otherwise, its a very lightweight and beautiful client.

gorgeous, functional app, hindered by crashes

everything is where youd think itd be and works how you think itd work except it does NOT get along with multitasking.

I dont always write reviews...

...But when I do, its because the App is amazing. Ok, this might be the most expensive IRC App currently available, but its beautiful and works like a charm. I love the layout on my iPhone and my iPad. Simply great!

I want my money back

This thing disconnects if you let your screen turn off or even switch to a different application. Totally useless on my iPad Air running iOS 7.1.

Awesome

Greatest app for IRC!

no channels

when connecting to a zinc bouncer there is no channel list (ipad only)

Better than colloquy

ZNC now works more or less (sometimes I get the same playback) but otherwise the best irc app available and Ive tried all of them. Worth the price.

Bad input positioning with external keyboard on iPad

There seems to be a problem with the latest version when using an external bluetooth keyboard, at least in landscape mode on iPad -- the input area moves up (and the chat area shrinks) to make room for an on-screen keyboard that never shows up. Otherwise it seems to work pretty well, except that connections time out in the background pretty aggressively.

Great

The best mobile irc app hands down!!

Channels

It appears that the only way to find/join a channel is to painfully scroll down a listing of thousands of channels. No search feature.

Seems to disconnect when the scene locks

On my iPhone 6 when the screen locks the connection to the server drops when other connections to other servers in other apps stay up.

Best IRC App for iOS

Very sleek and efficient. I have used this for a long time and have always loved it. I wish there were more commands for the user-list, but that is not a big problem. If you want a clean, straightforward and efficient IRC app, use this. Other apps are more technical and advanced, but this one has been the most reliable and well performing.

Updated to iOS 8 without adding background app refresh

I bought this program and I like it but, if you dont get background app refresh to work I might have to keep on working on my own IRC client, which basically works, but a lot to do for one person. However it never stays connected in the background so do that or Ill be forced to waste my time on a project I dont want to work on for a lack of a good ios IRC client

Nice looking interface

But lack of client identification (ident command) causes servers to auto k-line me (globally ban) due to suspicion of being a spambot.

Servers needed!!!

It its a great app, but there are still few servers!

Needs bouncer support

When connecting to ZNC, the appropriate server status is shown, and private messages are passed, but the channels joined do not open in Limechat. Unusable app for me

Useless without background connectivity

This app is great, save for the fact that a connection drops if the app is in the background, rendering it useless for me. Update the app with the option for background connectivity (without a time limit that drops connection) and its 5 stars from me.

Background connectivity++

The desktop client is amazing! So I figured it was an easy decision to shell out $5 for something I could get elsewhere for free. Except that the core use case for Orc is long-running background chats. I cannot use an Orc client that I have to leave in the foreground to work.

Dark theme please

Love the simplicity of it but really wish they had a dark theme. Including background would be awesome :) Keep up the good work!
